HELP PRINTLENGTH                                         A. Sloman, July 1983

    printlength(<item>) -> <number_of_characters>;

Given any item as argument, PRINTLENGTH returns the number of characters that
would be printed by a call of

    pr(<item>);

*PR may be locally redefined by the user, but must use *CUCHAROUT for its
output.
